Project Overview

Suzhou Taihu Football Sports Center is a key football training base in Jiangsu Province, China, and a venue for domestic and international football events.

The center features multiple standard 11-a-side football fields and supports professional team training, youth development programs, and international football competitions. SCL Sports Lighting provided a customized LED sports lighting solution for the competition and training fields, with lighting levels designed according to the requirements of different applications.

Competition Field – Professional Match Lighting

For the competition field, SCL Sports Lighting deployed QDZ-1200NJ LED sports lighting fixtures, installed at a mounting height of approximately 17 meters.

The lighting system delivers a horizontal illuminance of 1,000 lux, providing a high-quality visual environment for professional football competitions.

The professional optical design precisely controls light distribution across the playing field, helping achieve the required illuminance, uniformity, and glare performance. With a CRI of ≥90, the system provides accurate color reproduction of players, the ball, and field details, supporting high-definition multi-camera coverage and sports broadcasting.

An intelligent lighting control system is integrated into the solution, enabling different lighting scenes, including official matches and pre-match warm-ups, to be switched efficiently according to venue requirements.

Training Fields – Professional Training Lighting

For the training fields, the lighting design focuses on maintaining consistent illumination across the playing area, particularly around the field edges, while reducing dark areas and unwanted glare.

This creates a stable and comfortable visual environment for professional football teams and youth training programs. The intelligent control system supports zonal and time-based dimming, allowing the lighting output to be adjusted according to training schedules and actual usage requirements.

High-Reliability Outdoor Lighting Design

Located near Taihu Lake, the project requires lighting equipment capable of reliable operation in a humid outdoor environment.

The lighting fixtures feature an IP67 protection rating and are designed to withstand high and low temperatures as well as outdoor corrosion, making them suitable for long-term operation in demanding outdoor conditions.

The high-reliability design and long service life of the LED lighting system help reduce maintenance requirements and lifecycle operating costs for the sports facility.

Project Results

Following completion, the field lighting performance passed professional event acceptance requirements, providing the facility with the necessary lighting infrastructure to host high-level domestic and international football competitions.

The upgraded system also provides professional lighting conditions for professional teams and youth training programs, while intelligent lighting control enables more efficient management of different operating scenarios.
